Rocky Mountain Bride Photoshoot
It is a blessing that I get to do so many things that I love in the company of such amazing women. At times, being an artist and maker can have you questioning why you do what you do but days like this reaffirm following passion over predictability. Love you ladies!
I had several headpieces featured in this shoot. For the sculptural feather piece, I wanted to create something a little wild and raw in contrast to the soft romantic vibes, especially for the zoo. I alternated 'scales' between hand block printed canvas, and watercolour dyed cotton. To add movement I used vegan leather in snakeskin print to lift the scales and offer a light texture. The white sculptural branch was inspired by spruce trees in the winter – how they gathered the frost and captured the light. Watching Ciara dance in it, felt absolutely poetic. A fun little steampunk inspired pillbox fascinator and a simplistic blush blusher also found their way into the mix.
