As someone who has never considered herself ‘fashionable’ and through necessity, more than trend, relied on thrift shop finds – It is a complete oddity that I sculpted headpieces for a fashion shoot. It was our first issue of Luxe and we wanted something bespoke for our cover series. So, armed with watercolor paper and a glue gun, I set out to make prototypes. I desired something with height and volume, which could be produced quickly and affordably. Stylistically, I took inspiration from desert flora and arid landscape contours of Drumheller.
I have now fallen in love with being a mad-hatter and create these beauties whenever I have a chance.
